Neal Froneman is the visionary and disciplined CEO of Sibanye-Stillwater (SBGL).
Neal purchased Stillwater Mining, primarily a palladium mine based in Montana, in late 2016, when palladium was in the $600s. Today, palladium is north of $1500.
Recently, SBGL acquired Lonmin, at a price less than 10% of where it had traded, making Sibanye-Stillwater the largest platinum miner in the world. Neal is a deal maker, very cognizant of risk and reward. His confidence in taking on Lonmin, (which admittedly was a great deal for its vertically integrated assets, in addition to its platinum portfolio), is a word to the wise that Neal Froneman thinks now is a great time to put on platinum, with October platinum futures today, at $818.
I am very happy to hitch my investment trailer to SBGL and Platinum and Neal’s Peterbilt truck, (the best long haul truck cabs in the world), and his prescient record.
