1. POLITICS: My view - 80% chance Trump is not the Republican candidate, and also 80% probability that to far left Elizabeth Warren is not the Democratic nominee. Wow! how cool for America if it ends up Bloomberg vs Romney!!!
2. BITCOIN: I'm not a tech guy, but have previously written about why I have passed on bitcoin. Heard a stat this morning, that Google, who has achieved Quantum Supremacy, is thus able to do in 200 seconds what it takes the world's fastest computer today 10,000 years to do. Wow! Somehow, intuitively, that seems to be a big risk for bitcoin and blockchain.
3. UTX: Bought UTX yesterday at $141.3 after great earnings, and listening to J.P. Morgan's highly respected Stephen Tusa. My read? $120 billion market cap for a company that has 21% of the jet engine market, and all of the remarkable Raytheon businesses is vaue.
4. Looked at the cost of options in Biogen, BIIB, and decided to put on a tiny position instead in the stock. Purchased at $287 which to me is a $60 downside, and upside to $1000 if in fact this Alzheimer's drug really works. Given my small size in this speculation, let's describe it as a fun play.
